The Clare County Agricultural Society announces the Clare County Fair will run September 20 through 23. The article urges every farmer to exhibit and promote the event to boost county agriculture and make the fair one of the state’s best.
Homer Edwin Likes was born in Kendallville Nobles County Indiana on July 1874 and died August 31 1921 in Clinton Michigan aged 47 years 1 month and 26 days He married Elia May Ackerman on July 16 1902 and they had two children He is survived by his wife three sisters and six brothers plus many friends and neighbors He resided in Sheridan Two for nine years before moving to Clinton where he spent his last days
Mrs. Schermmerborn a pioneer resident of Garfield township died Thursday morning at her Lake home. Funeral planned for Sunday with time to be announced. Obituary will run next week.

Edwin Stearns, a Vernon Township pioneer and Civil War veteran, died at Grass Lake Michigan on August 23 after a three month illness. He settled in Vernon in 1880 and long lived in this city. He leaves a wife Mary Kinnan, son Ernest, three grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and two brothers Ezra and Charles, plus two sisters. He was born in Pittefield Massachusetts and served in Company IF 20th Michigan Infantry. His Baptist faith and community work marked his legacy.
Sealed bids for the Meadion Road project in Garfield Township Clare County are due September 20 1921 at the township clerk office. Last Monday Geo Jackson of this city was returning home when an auto without lights struck his car about 13 miles west of the city. Vern Wiggins, driving the other auto, died a few hours after the collision. Jackson and the other passenger were not seriously injured.
The Catholic church led by Rev. McMannion holds mass at 7 30 a m. The Church of God hosts Sunday services at Mrs. Groves home on West 8th Street with Sunday school at 10 00 and evening service at 7 00. A cottage prayer meeting meets Tuesday at Mr. Van Bue kirk on the Garrahrandt farm one mile north of the mill pond river bridge. Strangers are invited to attend.
Rev. C. D. Milberry conducts morning worship at 10 15 with sermon and 11 30 Bible school at the Baptist church. Sheridan church offers Bible school at 1 00 and a 2 00 service in standard time. Evening prayer meetings are listed for Wednesday at 7 30.
Pastor G P Badgley leads morning service at 7 15 a m with the topic The Worlds Need Men Like A Christ. Sunday school begins at 11 30 a m and evening service at 7 30 p m. Prayer meeting is set for Thursday evening.
