Abnormal Milk Testing Plan For Clare County Dairy
Clare County Extension Director George MacQueen announces a milk testing service for dairy producers to detect abnormal milk from mastitis. Samples from Meek tanks will be checked for leukocytes, with periodic testing for Grade A milk. Central labs or DHIA partnerships may handle testing, costing about five cents per sample.

Cotton's Barn Total Loss in Fire
Fire destroyed a 40 by 60 foot barn and adjoining structures on the 380 acre Cotton farm at 9493 So Athey Rd near Clare. The blaze, discovered about 1 a.m., damaged hay, feed, five Holstein calves, and milk equipment. house and garage were saved. Insurance covers part of the loss. rebuilt pole barn planned with new parlor and bulk tank.

Lake's new post office will be dedicated at 2 00 PM on Sept 4 1965. Postmaster W T McLane announced today. Michigan Passes Uninsured Driver Relief Law
Michigan lawmakers and Governor Romney enacted the Motor Vehicle Claims Act after a decade of work led by Secretary of State James M. Hare. The fund, starting January 1 1966, will collect 25 dollars from uninsured vehicle owners and one dollar from insured owners when 1966 plates go on sale November 1. Hare expects about 120 million dollars in initial fund size from an estimated 300 000 uninsured drivers.

Monday night at Twin Elms the golfers closed their league season with a chicken dinner and awards program. Rain and dark skies limited play but a 9 hole kickers tournament occurred. Boy Finds Army Jeep in River Bottom
Fourteen year old Michael Randal of Clare swam in the Cheboygan river Sunday and found an army jeep on the river bottom. He notified authorities, dived to attach a line, and helped pull the vehicle out with a wrecker. Police and federal officials identified the jeep as a military vehicle from a nearby base.
