The Lake Home Economics Extension Club met Wednesday with 12 members present. A dessert luncheon was served. The lesson covered The Land Grant. Michigan is the first state to have Land Grant Colleges and one fifth of college students attend such institutions. Extension Service aims to share knowledge. New officers named Mrs Theo Harris as chair, Mrs Basil Baker as Secretary Treasurer, and Mrs Robert Streeter as council member. Next meeting is Wednesday October 23 with Mrs Donna Wallace.

The Clarabella Extension Club met September 26 at Mrs. Rose Ostrowsky's home with 17 members and two visitors. Marie Murphy was surprised with birthday songs and a corsage from Sally Murphy. many cards followed. Christmas Workshop was taught by Roberta Schroeder and Eleanor Wood, featuring easy Christmas gifts and decorations. Audrey Wood chaired the business meeting. Betty Mussell won the door prize. The hostess served a delicious lunch.
