School Band To Play At CMC Game

Secretary Alleman and wife hurt in East Lansing crash
Gene Alleman secretary treasurer of the Michigan Press Association and his wife Velora were injured in an auto accident east of East Lansing on Wednesday. He suffered cuts and severe shock and was listed in fairly good condition at Sparrow Hospital. Velora Alleman was treated for multiple cuts with possible wrist and left leg fractures and was described as in poor condition.

Conservation Dept Seeks 17 677 Budget for 1955 56
The conservation department asks for 17 677 00 for fiscal 1955 56 to meet public demand. A 60 page summary of the request was presented to the conservation commission during a recent meeting. Officials note 13 171 400 was provided in 1954 55 but barely funded current programs. They urge increases in forest work fire prevention and park system capital improvements. Chairman G A Walker calls for more officers and land purchases and the board will discuss the plan October 14 15 at Wriggling Lake training school. Hospital After Accident In Clare Woman Hospitalized After Car Crash
Bessie Nystrom of Clare was hospitalized with chest injuries after an auto accident on Fifth Street near Pine Street about 1 15 am Tuesday. She drove into a parked car, pushing it about forty feet into four tires. the other vehicle had only a couple hundred miles. Nystrom was ticketed for reckless driving and taken to Clare Hospital then transferred to Midland Township.
