Hunter Arrested For Threatening Deputy Sheriff
O A Loy of Durand was arrested Thursday afternoon by Deputy Sheriff Harold Hanchett of Clare after Loy allegedly threatened Deputy Hanchett with a loaded deer rifle. Loy and Bill Rafford of Detroit were staying with deer hunters at Cooper Cabins nine miles north of Harrison and entered the Coopers’ living quarters without permission. Loy pleaded not guilty to reckless use of firearms and pointing a loaded gun. trial was set for Clare city hall and continued to December 1st.
