Oddfellows Cite County Veterans and December Plans
Veteran members and birthday guests were recognized at an Oddfellows gathering. The Clarabellas met with Mrs. Goldie Rodgers. twenty-two members and six guests attended. Mrs. Dorothy Carter of Consumers Power displayed centerpieces and décor, offered safety tips, and discussed holiday decorating. The group plans to present a picture and gifts to the Eagle Boys Village at Christmas. The December meeting will be a Christmas party hosted by Mrs. Cyriel Belle after Rebekah and Oddfellow sessions. Engagement announced for Cynthia Merri Jeffery to Douglas B. Thomas from Clare and Livonia families. both will graduate from Michigan State University in June.

Couple Wed In Clare in United Methodist Church
Ina Hammond and Robert E. Clare married in Clare United Methodist Church on Saturday November 7 at 7 p.m. Rev. Donald Winegay officiated. The ceremony featured Miss Ray Owens singing I Love You Truly and The Lord's Prayer with organist Mrs. Norell Mahon. The bride wore a pink lace dress and mantilla, escorted by Robert Edmonds, with matron of honor Mrs. Charles Clare and brides maid Mrs. Robert Edmonds. Attendants included Charles Clare and Robert Edmonds, ring bearer Chris Edmonds, flower girl Kelly Woodworth, and corsages of pink roses. Reception for 125 guests at Clare I.C.O.F. Hall. The couple honeymooned at Houghton Lake and northern Michigan and live at 501 East Fourth Street in Clare.

Prizes in games went to Ivah Bartow Nina Rosendahl and Vi Campbell.

The Mid-Michigan Council of Cooperative Nurseries hosted a Fall Workshop at Memorial Presbyterian Church in Midland. Hostesses from Gingerbread House Nursery School Clare included Marilee Nivison and others. attendees included Sue Forsberg and Joan Zeiter. The event covered education, health, and welfare of pre-school children with meetings on games, audio visuals, storytelling, music, crafts, and flannel board ideas. The council serves over 1000 families across several towns.
