Clare School Bond Election Next Week

Clare voters face a special 2.2 million bond election next Wednesday to fund a new primary school building and extensive remodeling of the existing elementary school. The plan, nearly the same as last June, would raise about 400 thousand for remodeling and 1.8 million for new construction with a 25 year repayment, costing property owners about 6.5 mills more. Non property owners may vote for the first time, a change that could influence turnout and broader adoption in the state.
