White House ceremony seals good roads bill support

Mrs E E Buckner Dies In Farwell Area
Mrs E K Buckner died Tuesday morning at her west 5th Street home after weeks of illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Congregational church with Farwell O E S Lodge and Rev Whit ney officiating. Burial followed in Surrey Cemetery, as Mr Buckner had recently moved the family to town when he became superintendent of the masonry at the new school. An obituary will run next week.

John C. Lackie born August 25 1868 in Frontinack county Onnt died November 16 1921 at St Marys Hospital Superior Wisconsin. He lived in Clare Michigan area until 1900 then with brother Norman in Deivth Minn. Funeral held Saturday from his mothers home with Rev Davis officiating at Cherry Grove.

Unemployed Men Invited to Enlist in Army at Columbus Barracks
The War Department announces 1200 enlistments from Ohio Indiana West Virginia Kentucky and nearby states for general service. Of these 1400 are for Infantry 400 for Cavalry and 400 for Field Artillery. Colored men are not eligible. Applicants must show good moral standing and will be assigned after enlistment at Columbus Barracks. World War veterans and non veterans may apply through recruiting officers and local officials are asked to aid in recruiting efforts.

Dr J W Dunlop discovered a loaded dynamite cartridge wedged in a coal bin in his basement at the McEwan street corner. The device, drilled with a long hole, could have destroyed the building and harmed occupants if ignited in the furnace. He saved lives by inspecting the object.

Sterling Male Quartet Delights Lyceum Audience Despite Rain
