Clare Board Sets Special Meeting on Bonding for New Primary School
The Clare Board of Education will hold a special meeting on December 11 at 8 p.m. to approve bonding applications for a new 700 pupil primary school on Wheaton Ave. The district approved a 1.7 million dollar bond issue on November 8, with taxes rising about 4 dollars per year per thousand of value. Superintendent Richard Snyder notes approvals by the Municipal Finance Commission and State Department of Education are still required before bond sales, and building plans must be finalized to speed the process.

CMU Enrollment Hit 14 741 Milestones Across Counties
CMU reports 134 Clare County students at Central Michigan University. CMU’s total enrollment is 14 741, up 4 5 percent from last fall. Santa Arrives in Clare for Saturday Visit Parade
Santa officially begins his visit to Clare Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. parade from Witbeck's IGA to Gateway Ford via McEwan Street. Clowns bands and floats will ride along with candy for children. After the parade Santa will meet kids in the downtown business district and at noon the Ideal Theatre offers a free show for children while parents shop.
