Clare County appoints seven to zoning commission
A seven member zoning commission was created by the Clare County Board of Commissioners on November 22 to enact a countywide zoning ordinance. Appointees include Forrest Soguee Ken Barnes Stanley Oman Malcolm Whitford Horace Fannon E P Hamp and Louis Hoover, with terms to alternate from one to three years. The panel, led by Barnes, will hold its first reading December 9 at Clare City Hall as part of countywide planning progress.

Officer Resigns From Clare Cuy Police Force
Nobel Davis, a two year veteran of the Clare Cuy Police, resigned November 26 after submitting his letter at the November 22 City Commission meeting. He leaves to devote full time to church work at the Clare Church of God. Davis earned a VFW citation for aiding in robberies at Gate Way Sno Marina.

Snow depth links to state snow removal funds in Clare County
Clare County received 8106 dollars from the Department of State Highways for snow removal last winter. The program paid over a million dollars to qualifying counties from the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund using a formula based on snowfall depth and miles of state highways to be maintained.
