Six Hurt In Saturday City Crash Near Redding Hill
Six people were injured in a head on collision of two cars at the hilltop near the Redding school south of Temple around 3 PM Saturday. Victims include Frank Krehmir and brothers Victor and Paul Krehmir of Lake George, all taken to Clare County General Hospital in serious condition along with George Bowen, 63, and his wife, both badly hurt. Bowen’s brother Albert also suffered cuts. Krehmir suffered a severe leg injury and Paul a broken arm.

About 1,400 people attended the fourth annual Clare Community Fair held at the high school on November 9 and 10. Agricultural products scored highly, with judging by W Schember. Rural schools from Clare and Isabella counties contributed exhibits and took part in Rural School Day contests. McKinley school won rural exhibit, followed by Carrow and Randall schools. Spelling winners included Barbara Jean Murphy and Eda Phinisey with others recognized in ciphering events.

Barbara Kent nine, daughter of Mr and Mrs Albert Kent of Hight Point Lake, suffered a severe accident Sunday night when her right hand was caught in a corn shredder husking mechanism. Records Broken As Hunters Come To Game Area
Thousands of deer hunters traversed Clare streets and the Straits of Mackinac in a pre season rush. Over the weekend ferries carried 10 104 hunters in three days up from 7 840 last year. Canadian game included 151 deer 14 moose and 1 bear. A Kalamazoo man displayed a 1100 pound moose with 41 inch horn spread. Local residents reported multiple deer taken on the first day including a ten point buck by Henry Dow and an eight to sixteen point deer by others.
