Clare County AAA Committee hosted a state wide gathering at the Doherty Hotel for county chairmen from all eighty three Michigan counties. Discussion outlined the 1947 conservation program prioritizing farm specific needs and funding. Members cited 1946 agricultural lime use over 900000 tons and conservation payments on about two million bags of superphosphate. Open ditching reached 5500000 cubic yards as meetings ran from Monday to Tuesday noon.

Five Injured When Clare Highway Crash Occurs
Five people were injured in a rear end collision on US-16 near Clare. Eugene Jourdain, 60, of R-4 Clare, drove into Bari Gould’s car, causing serious head injuries to a three year old girl Leona Sue Carney. Gould and his wife escaped harm. Jourdain was released from hospital and faces a reckless driving summons. State Police at Mt. Pleasant investigated.

Isaac J Nedrow born December 9 1866 in Paulding Ohio died November 9 1946 in Lansing Michigan. He lived in Bea verton Gladwin county and Clare county moving between Lansing and Clare county after 1916. He married Mae Pratt February 9 1903 and leaves son Marion E Nedrow half brother Calvin Ankney and half sister Blanche Tource. Funeral held November 1 at Estes Leadley Colonial Chapel Lansing with interment at Arthur Cemetery November 11.
