Mrs. Joseph Hudson Passes Away in Clare Home
Mrs. Rachel Cross Hudson long resident pioneer of Clare died at her daughter’s home in Detroit on November 11 1928 aged 74. Born August 7 1855 in Tonia county she married Joseph Hudson in Ionia September 14 1870 and moved to Clare November 29 1870. Survived by son Fred Clare daughter Mary McKay Detroit four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral at Clare Presbyterian Church with Rev. H B Johnson officiating. Interment Cherry Grove Cemetery.

Vehicle Without Lights Causes Another Accident
Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Hilcott of Bay City were injured when their auto turned turtle in a ditch about twelve miles north of Clare late Tuesday night. Both were cut about the face and head and were taken to Harrison for surgical treatment. The crash occurred when Mr. Elliott veered to avoid a wagon without lights near the Cunningham curve. ownership of the wagon was not determined.

Last Rites Held for Carl Maxwell
Carl Maxwell born July 27 1894 at Herrick Michigan lived on a farm until 1913 then Detroit and Duluth with a year and a half in the army. He married Reya Fillmore in 1921 and had three children Hugh Willard Eugene Leroy and Denis Grace. He died November 6 1929 at Herrick survived by wife children mother and many siblings. Funeral at home with Rev W W Hurd and American Legion flag service at the grave in Cherry Grove.

Infant James Hearns Died at Three Months
Funeral services were held for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtice Hearns at the Bassett residence on Tuesday at eleven. Rev. H. B. Johnson conducted the rites and interment followed at Cherry Grove. James Richard Hearns lived three months and nineteen days and succumbed after a brief illness. The family has the community’s sympathy in their bereavement.
