Superintendent Tom Campbell will resign from Clare Public School effective January 1 1956 to take an Assistant Superintendent post with Lakeview Public School in St Clair Shores Michigan. The move comes as St Clair Shores expands to 138 teachers and over four thousand students.

Fined For Falsified Birth Certificate In Clare Court
Richard Bruce Kogler of Grand Rapids pleaded guilty in Clare Municipal Court to presenting a falsified birth certificate to obtain liquor. He paid a 45.70 fine and 4.30 in costs. In the same court Mrs. Elanor Spaulding of Clare was hospitalized after a collision on McEwan Street that sent her to hospital with facial injuries. Everett Smith of Farwell and William Battle Jr. of rural Farwell were involved. Battle was charged with improper starting from a parked position.

The Brown Corners United Brethren Sunday School collects funds to aid Paul Sheets a 1955 Harrison High School graduate attending Huntington College. About 25 dollars monthly from Sunday offerings covers part of his 185 dollar semester tuition under a reduced rate as he pursues a five year course. He works 30 hours weekly making television and radio cabinets to help cover expenses.

A sub-district Methodist Training Conference met at the Clare Methodist Church Sunday evening. Seventy eight attendees from area churches participated. Jesse Huggett led the session with Rev L J Nevins opening devotions and Dr Glenn M Frye presiding. Clare High School Carnival Promises Food and Fun Friday
Clare High School hosts a Friday carnival with flames sideshows contests and food hawkers. Dick Beery and Lois Bruner will reign as king and queen over a night with Dramatics Class sideshows and a playlet Fanny The Farmer's Daughter. Most admissions are ten cents, some a quarter or five cents. The king and queen will be crowned and a door prize awarded at the end. Proceeds fund CHS classes, seniors take largest share, during Hunter's Festival weekend in Clare.

J J Seiter Found After Night Lost in Woods Near Houghton Lake
J J Seiter a 15 year old hunter and son of Mrs Albert Seiter was missing for 17 hours in the Mid- Forest Lodge area near Houghton Lake. He spent Sunday night in 26 degree temperatures with only jeans and a jacket before being found at about 8 am Monday. State Police Clare police Coast Guard helicopter Traverse City and Court Bauer aided in the search aided by a bird dog owned by Laurence Seiter.

Rotarians Hear Golden Rule on Competitive Business Relations
Clare Rotary Club president Martin Loomis welcomed program chair Lee Sowle who introduced Bud Anderson to speak on Competitive Business Relations. Anderson urged a friendly cooperative approach and Rotary ethics to follow the Golden Rule with competitors. Warren McGuire then discussed Business Relations among Merchants focusing on fair trade pricing. Birthdays for the month were celebrated for several members and guests.
