Rural electrification gains interest and policy change discussed
Growing interest in rural electrification prompts study of a proposal by the State Public Utilities Commission. The plan would have power companies extend lines at no construction cost to farmers, who would commit to yearly energy use of 150 dollars per mile. If five farmers subscribe, the target is met. fewer farmers raise the per capita rate. Grant Township and Sheridan show wide support as lines may extend once policy is settled.
