Subscriptions Double In Magazine Drive at Clare High

Magazine drive at Clare High School boosted subscriptions for the Clare Sentinel with 110 new sales and 262 renewals. Jeff O'Brien led top sellers earning $135.47 and an F A M radio, followed by Marty Hartshorn with $132.71 and an instant lead camera, while Pat Rodabaugh earned a transistor radio for $102.97.

Quiet Halloween Weekend in Clare Farwell and Coleman

Police report a mild and sane Halloween with no serious accidents or crimes in Clare Farwell and Coleman. Clare Chief Elly Tice praised lighter pranks despite drizzle as Auxiliary monitored areas during the football game. Rustic Sport and Gift Center of Farwell offers 500 dollars for the return of three stolen snowmobiles two Chapparals and a Snow Prince taken from 1340 E Ludington early Sunday September 14. Three or four thieves cut chains and used a U Haul trailer. Witnesses Larry Higgins and Mr Pleasantman saw loading suspects with a blue or green Chevrolet. Owners add 1000 dollars for information leading to arrests and convictions.
