Special awards at Harrison High School recognized Clare County 4-H members Jim Pratt Dennis Dawson and Nola Lloyd of the Brone Buster group. Each recipient earned year pins and Achievement certificates during the Saturday event on the 27th.
The Farwell Missionary Church lists Grace Youth Fellowship Sundays and Bible Club Tuesdays with prayer meetings midweek. A Grace News Rally is set for November 10 in Holland Michigan. a church car will aid men attending. Missionary Sunday falls on November 4 with Marilyn Walker sharing a missionary story for children. Due to Rev Teale illness Eldon Bliss of Alma spoke Sunday.
Myrtle Buskard born December 8 1880 near Mt. Pleasant died October 28 at 81 in Cappaert Rest Home Clare after a lingering illness. Survived by two daughters Mrs Olin Bowjin Barryton and Mrs Leah Lott Chicago six grandchildren one brother Frank Crowley Barryton and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Farwell Gold Leaf Rebekah Lodge. Funeral held Tuesday October 30 at 1 00 pm from Coker Funeral Home with Ciram Gates officiating burial in Gilmore Cemetery.
Mrs Herbert Miller hosted a Halloween party for the Farwell Bronco Busters on October 25. About 15 costumed youths enjoyed games as a business meeting elected Marilyn Allen president and other officers. Nola Lloyd delivered junior leader training from Clare County to Camp Kett.
Billy Smith son of Mr and Mrs Don Smith celebrated his fifth birthday after school on Wednesday. Eleven classmates joined lively games with prizes then enjoyed birthday cake ice cream and pop. The Shaw family sent many gifts. Lynwood Smith, their son, plans to move to camp in California this week but is currently held in Colorado due to world developments.
