Elizabeth Cook Yeoman of Hatton township died twelve hours after a mobile fire started by a dress catching fire from a heater. She aged fifty eight and was married to Frank Yeoman with seven children survived by husband, four more kin, and many relatives. Funeral held at Clare Baptist Church.

Boy Scouts Lacking Small Portion of Area Quota
Local Boy Scout committee appealed last March for funds to hire Mr. Price, a trained supervisor for scouts in the area. Remains of Andrew Mitchel Brought Here for Burial
Freeman Mitchel received the sad news of the death of his father in Bozeman Montana early Monday. The remains were brought to Clare Thursday and taken to Thurston Funeral Home where the funeral was held in the afternoon. The deceased had lived in Vernon township until about thirty years ago when he moved to Montana.

County Road Commissioners Plan Gravel Re Surfacing and New Garages
At the Warrison session last Thursday the county road board voted to resurface eleven miles of road with gravel two inches thick in the coming season. LeRue of Midland won the contract to build two county garages, a 34 by 60 foot structure on West Fourth Street in Clare and a 40 by 70 foot garage on Main in Harrison. All highway department employees will take a five cent per hour wage cut and one foreman will be dispensed with.

Judge Hart holds special circuit court session in Clare County
Circuit Judge Ray Hart presided over a special March term session in Harrison on May 28. Six defendants faced charges with total potential sentences listed. Henry White received one year at Ionia Reformatory, Clarence Whiting up to five years, and Warren Crane, Victor Wills, and Charles Donders faced six months to fifteen years with mixed terms. C M Irish paid a $150 fine and two years probation for Prohibition violations. Further trials are set for the June term.
