Sheridan township held a social evening April 29 as its Bond Booster Club concluded a War Loan tour. A patriotic program featured Pat Pudway James Gillespie Joanne Richard and Vena Lee Gillespie. The auction of supper plates raised 750 in War Bonds and total sales reached 1020.00. Robert C. Kleiner bought the prize trophy.

Clare High School Gym Demonstration Planned

A six and a half year old girl, Kay Wilkie, was struck by a car at McEwan and Fourth in Clare, suffering bruises, shock, and a scalp wound. Mrs. M. H. Bicknell Succumbs at Clare Home
James L. Bicknell longtime Clare banker and president of The Citizens State Bank died suddenly at his East Fifth Street home just before seven. Born April 4 1874 in Saginaw he built a career in Clare politics and civic life earning esteem as a financier and community leader. Funeral services were held at the Clare Congregational Church with interment in Cherry Grove Cemetery.
