East Michigan Vacations Sell At High Rate Through EMTA Campaign
East Michigan vacations for spring and summer are selling at more than 400 per day this winter, driven by campaigns of the East Michigan Tourist Association based in Bay City. EMTA promotes travel through travel, sports and boat shows across Ohio, Indiana and southern Michigan. A 30 foot color exhibition display is shown at five major travel shows from January through April. Clare Chamber of Commerce secretary Ken Barnes says requests for travel information are 17 percent ahead of last year as out of state readers clip a coupon in Clare's East Michigan Vacation Guide and mail questions about living in the area in summer.
