Gerrit Hamstra of Clare Michigan leads Hampshire flock to Grand Champion Lamb and Grand Champion pen of ewe lambs at Farmers Week Hast Lansing. His 26 ewes produced 36 lambs averaging 80 pounds at four and a half months. Ewes sheared strong wool per head. Hamstra ranks eighth in the Michigan Sheep Breeders Association project and earns a silver medal. One ewe sold for 150 dollars to Delmer Lia of Lancaster Missouri. Additional Hamstra consignments exceed 100 dollars per head. Carl Todd of Carson City bought a ram in the sale.
