Captain James Bott and chaplain Paul Hallinan relay that only two crew members were rescued and a search found no trace of him. Hattie Amanda Edmonds born July 15 1869 in Isabella county died June 19 1945 at Central Michigan Community Hospital Mt Pleasant after a yearlong illness. She married Frank Hoyer of Wales New York in 1885 and had two children. he is deceased. She married John Lewis Oliver in Clare October 23 1918. he died November 30 1941. Survived by son George Hoyer Lakewood Ohio daughter Evelyn Rawe Alden New York brothers Elmer Edmonds Seedro Wooley WA Arthur Remus and George Mt Pleasant sisters Eva Blowers Buffalo NY Bertha Gundel Mt Pleasant and other relatives. Funeral June 21 at Stinson Funeral Home Mt Pleasant with Rev L A Wilson. interment Cherry Grove Cemetery Clare. Distance attendees included George Hoyer and Evelyn Rawe.

Lt. Bill Burdo Discharged After Service in China
First Lt. Stanley William Burdo arrived home from Fort Sheridan to spend leave with his mother and relatives. He received an honorable discharge effective in July on the point basis after entering service in August 1941. Burdo served overseas from August 1944 in China Burma and India flying a P 51 Mustang and earned the Asiatic Pacific theater ribbon with bronze star and the American Defense ribbon.

Walter Hubel Passes Away at Home in Howell Michigan
Walter S. Hubel aged 86 died Tuesday at his Howell home after a long illness. Born July 24, 1882 in Macomb County he served in World War I and remained active in his church. A temporary pump arrived and is being installed by Consumers Power crews with permanent equipment delayed until October due to war conditions.
