The body of Fred Hess who died at his home in Flint Sunday night was brought to Friz Undertaking Parlors Monday. Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon with burial at Cherry Grove.

William Lee Park 79 died Monday at his Clara Aire Ranch seven miles north of Clare from a cerebral hemorrhage. His wife died in January after illness in Chicago. Surviving are two sons Edward A of Peoria and P Jay of Rushville. a daughter Mrs Guy Congdon of Albany. a sister-in-law Mrs Dille and a daughter also named Dille. Funeral services will be in North Platte Nebraska.

The Millett Nursery of Lansing bid 11 762 18 to landscape the roadside park seven miles north of Clare on US 27. The project includes drainage and 20 foot concrete paving and will extend across 5 866 miles in Clare and five miles in Roscommon counties. The work aims to attract motorists to the scenic route with improved facilities and ferry service arrangements at the Straits.
