Michigan park fees face criticism by Senator Toepp
In a Senate bill, Michigan residents would pay 1 dollar daily and 3 dollars yearly for park use while non residents would pay 2 dollars daily and 5 dollars yearly. Senator John F. Toepp criticized the plan saying it discriminates against out of state visitors who own summer properties in northern Michigan. He urged attracting visitors rather than discouraging them to boost the economy. In Clare School Election Monday, E A Anderson was reelected president and Joseph Johnston won the board seat with 218 and 180 votes respectively among 289 voters.

Area residents spent Sunday touring Clare Osteopathic Hospital as the new 600000 expansion was dedicated. State to Meet County Road Men for Parley
Officials of the State Highway Commission will meet Clare County Road Commission representatives in Harrison to discuss engineering details for extending US-10 from Clare to Farwell. The 7.5 mile project involves bridge clearances loadings and structures to carry county roads over the freeway. Surveys are underway for a $5.5 million project.

Valley Line helps send chapel bell to Vietnam troops
Farwell residents Buz Cross and Capt. Ward W. Goodwin organized a bell for a Cu Chi chapel of the 25th Infantry Division. The bell, found after a Valley Line appeal, departed Michigan on February 18 1967 and arrived May 23 1967.

The American College of Chiropractors Internists in Detroit sent a cash donation to the memorial fund for the late Dr E J Gershon. The gift accompanied a letter praising his teaching and inspiration.
