The Clare High School class of 1948 held its commencement Friday evening with 41 seniors in the auditorium. Speeches by Clyde Campbell and supper music followed, as the class received diplomas and showcased National Honor Society inductees and scholarships. Rosses Observe Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary in West
The F I Rosses mark their fiftieth wedding anniversary at 2217 Vine Street in Berkeley California on June 2. The couple left Clare in 1911 for California where Ross was foreman of the Clare Sentinel under Welch and Bennett. Their friends in Clare wish them many more years of happiness.

Two Sentenced for Reckless Driving Here
Richard Brown of Saginaw and Eugene Shafer of Clare were arrested by City Police at 12:30 a.m. Sunday for reckless driving between Fifth and State Streets on McEwan Street after a racing collision. Both pleaded guilty, fined $55 plus $3.35 costs, arraignments held before Justices Dunlop. other local notices include fishing without a license, speeding charges, and a car larceny case in Clare.

Nine Clare Golf Club ladies went to Portland for a four ball match. Portland won the foursome. Mrs Albert Haley and Mrs Sam Garfield tied for low with 49. Mary Rose Fedewa of Portland also shot 49. A pot luck lunch followed. Next week the group plans another match at Clare Country Club with lunch reservations and transport arranged by club members.

Clare Boy Dies in Tractor Accident Near Clare
Vernon Miller 16 of Clara Michigan died Saturday night from a broken neck when a tractor he steered overturned in a ditch near Clare. He was dead on arrival at Clare Hospital. Funeral services were held at Coleman Free Methodist Church with Rev. I R Darby officiating and burial at Cherry Grove cemetery.
