The Clare Business men's softball team announces the first half schedule with games from June 2 to July 6 at Clare Mt Pleasant and Mt Pleasant. After eight games they are undefeated, with key wins over Roosevelt Oils and K of C and strong support from local sponsors. Sanford Cudney, 71, of Winterfield township Clare county, died Wednesday night in an apparent self inflicted hanging at his home five miles east of Marion. Coroner G J Lamb ruled death by own action due to very poor health. He is survived by his widow and two sons.

Sheep Raisers Hold First Successful Wool Show
Clare County farmers staged their inaugural wool show last Saturday at L. H. Thompson's implement store. Despite a modest entry count, fleeces judged by D. H. LaVoi of Michigan State College were of high quality. County sight fleeces from multiple growers and purebred ram and ewe entries were displayed, with purebred sires and lamb pens adding extra appeal. The annual Children's Day program delighted about one hundred parents and friends in a spring setting. State Receives Substantial Sum From Oil Leases
Michigan expects oil industry revenues to reach as much as 750000 dollars this year. Since 1938 the state has earned 277000 dollars from royalties and rentals plus 10500 from drilling fees and 52000 from severance tax shares.
