Clare High School Seniors Graduate in 58th Commencement
The Clare High School auditorium welcomed 39 graduates in the fifty-eighth commencement on Friday evening June 1. Three graduates serve in the armed forces. Dr C E Erickson spoke on What Adults Have Learned, stressing democracy education and early detection of disturbances. Douglas Masten presented a class memorial of 100 dollars for the athletic field. Vena Lee Gillespie played piano selections.

Public Utility Dams Threatened by Flood Waters
Unusual rainfall in Michigan pushed rivers above flood stage forcing precautions to protect hydroelectric dams. Fourteen Year Old Robert Wentworth Dies After Car Crash
Robert Wentworth of near Whittaker died after a bicycle accident Sunday evening when a passing car swerved into a ditch to avoid him. He died Monday at Eloise Hospital in Wayne county. He was born April 26, 1931 in Isabella township. He leaves parents Henry and Josephine, seven brothers and several sisters. Funeral services were at St Henry's Church Vernon township with Requiem High Mass. Interment in St Henry's Cemetery.
