Clare adopts BOCA based building code for federal funds
Clare approved a comprehensive building code patterned after BOCA to govern building plumbing and electrical work as well as demolition and alterations. A new Building Code Board of Appeals was created with members including Mack Thompson and Paul Lapham to appoint a building inspector, enabling eligibility for federal funds for a senior citizen public housing project.

Adrian Blades, a local contractor, was awarded 75000 by a Clare County Circuit Court commission in a 1960 highway condemnation case.
