Michigan alfalfa seed crop may boost state yields
Michigan State College crops department observers report excellent conditions for alfalfa flower development and pollination. If these persist, many farmers can profit by letting part of the second crop go to seed, with yields of one to five bushels per acre and three bushels as an average. Dry weather at blooming favors seed production and the clover seed crop is expected to be short.
