George Carrier Finds Kangaroo Mouse in Vernon Township
George Carrier brought a Kangaroo mouse to the Sentinel office on Wednesday morning after finding it in his hay field in Section 4 Vernon township. The creature shows rabbitlike teeth and nose with front legs about a half inch and hind legs near two inches long. It jumped four to five feet and eighteen inches, eluding capture, and had to be killed. This species is not native to the area and its presence remains a mystery.

Isabella County Farmer Fatally Hurt Saturday
Ollie Dagg a respected Denver township farmer in Isabella county was badly hurt while helping on the Yahomas Bader farm during haying. He died at Community hospital several hours after the injury. Funeral was held Tuesday at Bradley Chapel near Delwin with interment in Delwin cemetery. Stinson and son supervised funeral arrangements. His only immediate relative is son Lee Dagg, serving with U S Forces in Northern Africa. wife and daughter had predeceased him.

Mrs Savietta Forman Galliver aged eighty five died Sunday at her daughter Mrs A L Verwilsts home in Detroit. She was Clare's early pioneer and longtime organist at the Methodist church in Flint before moving there in 1912. Survivors include son George F Galliver Rochester NY daughter E Luella Galliver Laramie Wyoming sister Miss Nellie Forman Windsor Ontario and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The remains of Mrs. Frank Van Wormer of Clio, formerly of Clare, were brought to Clare for interment at Cherry Grove Cemetery at 5 PM Sunday. The Clio Methodist pastor officiated at 2 PM services, with Clare Odd Fellows pallbearers and Rebekahs attending. Mrs. Van Wormer was a former Clare Rebekah member and mother of Mrs. Arthur Walter of Clare. Her life story will be published next week.
