Chlordane Declared Top Crabgrass Killer by MSU Expert
Dr. B H H Grigsby of Michigan State University says a half pint of 72 percent chlordane in a gallon of kerosene will control crabgrass in 1,000 square feet in one application. Wetted powder forms won’t work though. He cites potassium cyanate and phenyl mercuric acetate as alternatives needing more sprays and warns against chlordane on fescue. New organo arsenic compounds are being tested with potential advantages if effective.
