Jacob P. Myers a longtime Arthur township resident died in a Saginaw hospital Thursday of last week He was born December 19 1861 in Seneca County Ohio and lived on a Clare county farm since 1902 He married Elizabeth Smith in 1891 and is survived by his daughter Edith sons Jay Perle and Herbert six brothers five sisters and four grandchildren Funeral services were held at Thurston Funeral Home with Masonic rites and burial at Cherry Grove cemetery.

Six Mester brothers serving in war wounding reports
Pvt Theodore Mester, 24, of Coleman R-1, wounded in action at Attu, remains in an American Base hospital with serious leg and foot injuries. He is one of six Mester brothers serving in the armed forces. Arthur F. Pioneering Clare County figure Maron F Caner dies at daughter's Greenwood home
Maron F Caner, early Clare County pioneer born August 1 1857 in Pittsford Michigan, died June 22 1943 at his daughter Mrs Chas Burnett’s Greenwood Township home after years of ill health. He homesteaded Hayes Township in 1881, later lived in Harrison, married Eliza Travis then Mary Town, leaving three children, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several stepchildren. Funeral held June 24 at his daughter’s home with Dr A W Johnstone officiating.
