Attendance at Daniels Band church Sunday stood at 82. The Jerome Schumacher family shared supper with his mother in Beal City last Sunday. Dozens of local families visited relatives and friends across Clare, Gladwin, Coleman, and Saginaw counties, with several trips to Mt. Pleasant for errands and a Western Panorama event in Flint. A 20-year 4-H leader from Sheridan, Marion Magnus, was honored in Lansing with a taperecorded interview noting her years of service. Birthday cake for Debra’s party was served after school with ten guests attending.

Michigan Faces Soaring Deer Problems in the South
Michigan reports a sharp rise in car deer collisions in the southern region rising 316 percent in under a decade. Last year motorists paid about 1.3 hundred thousand dollars in damage while farms face increasing crop losses. Deer numbers, estimated at 45 000, are seen as doubling every five years prompting calls for sailerless hunting in 1964.
