Two Gladwin County rural teachers, Mrs. Herbert Clark and Wayne Hamilton, died after a Saturday evening car crash near Elm Grove store in Sheridan township. Five others in the party survived injuries. Miss Grace Ritchie and Dale Reigle among them. The group had returned from a campus extension meeting at Central State Teachers College Mt Pleasant. Mrs. Clark drove. Walter Hawkins, uninjured, aided others and called for help. Mrs. Clark died Sunday morning, Mr. Hamilton two hours later. Funeral services held. families and colleagues mourn losses in Gladwin County.

Old W. E. Hubel House Destroyed By Fire Near Clare
Firefighters answered an eleven o'clock alarm at the W E Hubel house on the farm of Harl Snider half a mile west and north of Clare. A stove likely overheated starting the blaze. Seven children were left alone when parents drove to Riverdale with the youngest child. A few household items were saved as the old landmark burned. the children stayed at the Thompson Hotel that night.

The J W Wicklund Development Co reports a new field in Sec II Buckeye township Gladwin county with eighteen derricks rising in two weeks. The find, about three miles from a producer, yields around 1000 barrels daily on state land, with three Wicklund wells and three more on state leases by others, and the state to receive one eighth of production.

Judge Hart Dismisses $20,000 Accident Suit in Mt Pleasant
Circuit Court in Mt Pleasant dismissed the $20,000 damage claim by Herbert Smith of Saginaw against Bernard and Lillian Eberhart of Wise Township after finding both sides negligent. The July 26 1935 collision on US 27 east of the city involved Smith’s son driving and Mrs Eberhart in the opposing car. Eberhart cross filed for damages to his wife. The case ran Monday through Thursday with Mrs Aberhart hospitalized afterward.

A convoy of forty two government trucks traveled to the southern flood area with drivers, a foreman, four mechanics, and staff. Junior Forester L. M. Wines led the group en route from Camp Custer to flood stations, with orders to carry blankets, gear, winter clothing, and camp paraphernalia for an indeterminate mission. The unit, formed from three CCC Camp trucks per state forestry unit, left early Thursday after receiving word late Wednesday night and paused in Clare for refueling.

Earl Herron Charged With Ten Dollar Forgery
Earl Herron was arrested by Deputy James Clute and Sergeant Lloyd Wagner after cashing a forged ten dollar check at Kroger. He allegedly forged Henry W.
