Former resident of Clare and Farwell dies in Cadillac
Joseph LaGrow a former Clare and Farwell resident died at his Cadillac home last Thursday after a period of illness. Born February 11 1877 in Saginaw he married Helen Crandall in 1899 at Barryton. He is survived by his wife four daughters five sons and other relatives. Funeral services were held at Trynn Funeral Home Cadillac at 1:00 PM Saturday with Rev H E Shotwell officiating and burial in Farwell.

Solon N. Smith Dies in Clare at 51
Solon Nathan Smith died in his sleep January 14 1946 at his Clare home after years of ill health. Funeral services were held at Thurston Funeral Home with Rev. Chas B Hahn, and burial followed in Cherry Grove Cemetery. He served in World War I and married Wava Carr in 1921. Survivors include his wife six children daughter-in-law three grandchildren and his parents Leonard a brother and three sisters. He belonged to American Legion Waltery Hf Larman Post 128.

Mrs Earl Dwyer Dies at Daughter's Vernon Home
Mrs Earl Dwyer a longtime resident died at her daughter Mrs Arthur Thayer’s Vernon township home at 10 45 am last Thursday after months of ill health. Dora May Allan born February 2 1898 in Trenton Ontario moved to Toronto then Clare before marrying Thomas Earl Dwyer in Saginaw June 14 1916. They lived in Flint and later here, raised nine children including Marjorie Isabelle Raymond Allan Katherine Louise Thomas Earl Jr Rose Mary Annabelle Jean John Joseph Robert Michael and James Richard. Funeral Mass was at St Cecilia's Church with Rev Fr Charles L Brophy and burial in St Cecilia's Cemetery. Ray Dwyer was killed aboard the USS Franklin in Tokyo Bay March 19 1945.

Clare Fire Department answered three calls including a chimney fire at Bruce Temple home on West Wheaton Avenue caused by an overheated oil heater and a small loss covered by insurance.
