Norman Erickson battles a gale aboard Gustaf Ericksonson's boat to reach the struggling Admiral Burkett and save crewmen. He ferries the injured and a dog, then, amid thick fog and peril, undertakes a daring line rescue while the captain sacrifices himself rather than abandon his command.
