A story and a half frame house on Leo Nixon farm six miles southeast of Clare burned between 3 and 4 pm Thursday. Mrs Grant and daughter and Mr Grant and son were away at an auction and doctor visit. Neighbors, blocked by snow, saved little. loss about 4000 dollars with 1200 insured. Grants staying with relatives in Clare. Nearby fire at Richard Bogan farm gutted by 12:30 pm blaze damaging bedding and clothing of six children. insurance covered damages estimated 600 to 700 dollars.
