Mrs James Roxburgh Dies at Grand Rapids Hospital
Funeral services planned for Friday afternoon at the Community church in Hvart. Mrs Rosburgh born Ethel Elden in Clare November 12 1879 married James G Roxburgh of Hvart in 1900. They lived in Evart and later had three children Elden Rosemary and Mary who died in 1926. Survived by husband son Elden daughter Rosemary father W H Elden and brother Norris A of Clare.

Vernon Farm Home Destroyed by Fire in Snowbound Hours
Early Wednesday a farm home two miles west of the Bowman place was destroyed by fire in five below zero temperatures. Mrs Funnell woke to heat and lamb bleating, freed two lambs, and helped Vernon Funnell escape as flames blocked exits. Mr Funnell suffered severe burns while escaping. he was transported across snow to Clare County General Hospital where he rests under care. The home and its contents burned.
