Consumers Power plans $1.4 million 1951 expansion for Central Division
The Central Division of Consumers Power Company based in Alma will spend over $1.4 million in 1951 on gas and electric facility expansion and service improvements. The budget includes more than $400,000 for electric power supply, over $500,000 for electric distribution, and over $225,000 for gas transmission and distribution, plus a Harrison substation and a 15 mile 44 000 volt line linking Harrison and Clare. The division also targets 1,800 new electric customers and at least 200 new gas customers.
