Saginaw Valley district reports October dairy tests from Michigan State College indicate 82 percent of herds receive grain while most still graze. Return over feed costs seen, but likely to shrink as barn feeding rises. Only 28 percent receive silage and alfalfa, 3 percent corn stalks. 4.8 percent produced 50 pounds butter fat. 170 cows culled, the largest monthly total this year.
