Wedding Nuptials Of Two Prominent Calif Residents

On Wednesday December 18 1936 occurred the marriage of Mrs Minnie M Welch and Mr Frank Erwin of Los Argeles California. The quiet home wedding was at 1606 South Van Ness Ave at seven o clock in the evening with only immediate family present. Dr Ernest W Bysshe officiated at the Wilshire Methodist church in Los Angeles.

Pioneer Farwell physician dies at Okemos Saturday

Doctor L. Kelly a pioneer Michigan physician and former state lawmaker died Saturday morning at his Okemos home. Born December 29 1848 in Clardeen VI he practiced in Farwell 44 years and served Clare county in the House 1905-07 and Senate 1913-15. Survived by widow son Eugene and three daughters, services held Monday at 2 pm in Okemos with burial in the new Okemos cemetery.

Oc Sanford chaired the civic committee overseeing the filling of three baskets, with generous local donations. City Engineer W. H. Thomas J. J. Walker Dies After Long Illness

Thomas J. J. Walker, a well known city resident for many years, died Monday afternoon after months of illness. Funeral services were held at the Congregational church on Thursday with Rev. Albert Dawe officiating and burial in Cherry Grove. A life sketch will be published next week.

Two Young People Injured in City Auto Crash

Miss Betty Callihan daughter of Mgr and Mrs 8 M Callihan and Stanley Mullett of Shepher d were severely injured in a Thursday morning crash returning from the Twin Elms Club near the Goodman gas station on north McIwan street. Callihan required fifty stitches for facial wounds and eye injury while Mullett suffered chest and body bruises. Jim Johnson and another Jim Johnson were minimally hurt. all three cars damaged.

Clare-Isabella District Association Meeting in Clare

The Clare-Isabella District Association of Odd Fellow and Rebekah Lodges met at Clare Odd Fellow Hall with over two hundred attendees. Officers were elected, hosting clubs from Shepherd Mt Pleasant Farwell Brinton and Goleman sent delegates, a pot luck dinner followed by games and dancing, next meetings set for Shepherd January 16 and Mt Pleasant February 20.
