Arbitrator rules for county in Jensen reinstatement case
Former Clare Sheriff Det. Richard L. Jensen was ordered reinstated as a detective to Feb. 13, 1976 with back pay and restored benefits. He and Lt. Gus Aleck had supported Sheriff-elect Raymond Lippold after ouster of Sheriff Lippold’s predecessor. Aleck later won a court suit for back pay and benefits. the department had argued Jensen was not laid off but transferred to patrol.
