Frank Methner Dies After Ill Health in Beaverton
Frank F. Methner of Beaverton township dies at 11:50 Sunday evening after two years of illness culminating in a cerebral hemorrhage. Born January 21, 1874 in Detroit, he lived in Coleman and Beaverton for over 25 years and was a general store operator. He leaves wife Edna, five children including Sgt Ralph Methner and Joyce Methner, eleven brothers and three sisters, plus many relatives. Funeral services were held at the Beaverton Community Building with Elder S. T. Pendleton officiating.

Pfc. Harold Hess of U S Infantry was killed in action in Germany on November 19 1944 at age 22. Born November 5 1922 in Sheridan township he served from Detroit since February and went overseas in July. Clare Fire Chief Albert Haley resigns, effective after Monday's meetings. Richard Woodcock, long time firefighter and current assistant chief, is appointed interim fire chief until spring elections.
