Ellen Michael Dies on 28th Birthday in Atlanta
Ellen Michael daughter of Thomas Michael of this village died at her home in the western part of the village at 1 40 Monday noon after an eight day illness. Born December 2 1907 in Rose City she celebrated her twenty eighth birthday on the day of her death. Funeral was held from the house Wednesday December 4 and interment followed at Briley cemetery beside her grandmother. Rev Cobb of Hillman preached the sermon to a large gathering. She moved with her father to Atlanta about four years ago after a sojourn in Detroit and was survived by her father three brothers Thomas W Carl W of Detroit and Paul R with the United States Marines in China. Also missing is her mother who died two years ago in Atlanta.

Clare Varsity Opens 1935-36 With Narrow Win Over Sacred Heart
Clare’s basketball team opened the 1935-36 season with a scrappy 19-17 victory over Sacred Heart in a fast home game. The Irish, despite a cold start, showed excitement and hope for the rest of the season as they prepare to face Reed City next Friday.

Mrs. Fred Geiger Dies in Arthur Township After Illness
Mrs. Fred Geiger passed away at her home in Arthur township November 27 1935 after months of illness. Funeral services were held at the Evangelical church in Bard with Rev L A Ruegsegger presiding. Burial followed in Springport Michigan. Survived by husband Elton a son two daughters Mrs Olin Benn Mrs Lee Tuohy and Mrs Bierschback four more descendants and several nieces and nephews.
