The Ford agency in Clare invites the public to a reception today at I. E. Hampton’s sales rooms to unveil the new Ford automobile praised by Henry Ford for its design. The display highlights speed, four wheel brakes, a 40 horsepower engine, European styling, and six models including phaeton and sedan.
Frank Schaaf died at his Harrison home on November 21 1927 at 8 80 in the morning. He was 61 years old. The cause was heart trouble and exertion while adjusting a grate. He was born February 16 1864 in Venice township Seneca County Ohio. He married Bertha M Weaver January 20 1884 and had three sons Fred W Don L Carl C and three daughters Bernice M Collins Gladys N Hallgren Dora F Egbert. Funeral at Harrison Congregational Church with Rev Hi B Johnson and Rev A F Light. Burial in Harrison Cemetery with John J Carton Lodge 436 RF A M. He was a respected citizen and loyal lodge member.
A benefit bake sale hosted by Ane Guild will be held at Derby's Kandy Kitchen on Saturday December 10 with proceeds aiding the organization.
Gains Finch oldest Freeman township resident died November 15 at his brother Merrit Finch’s home. Funeral held at Gleaner Hall Lake conducted by Rev W W Hurd with burial at Lake cemetery. Born Macomb county 1889 moved to Hillsdale 1865 married Almira Sabins March 25 1882. children Carrie and Warren. Warren preceded father in death. daughter and brother left grieving.
A community supper and fair will be held Wednesday evening December 7 at the Congregational church. Menu includes chicken pie mashed potatoes tea biscuits cranberry salad baked apples bread butter and pickles. Coffee priced 50 and 25 cents. Serving begins at 5 30.

Amos Andrews died at his daughter Mrs. Hoa Jahnstock's home in Lake on November 22 after a week of illness from a stroke. Born 1851 in Genesee county, he married Sarah Farr in 1870 and had five children, three of whom survive Fabn stock and Daniel of Lake and Mrs. Eirza Swinehart of Saginaw. He left a brother Edwin of Genesee, eighteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were at Gleaner hall in Lake, with burial in Lake Cemetery.

One hundred Clare and Delwin residents were guests at the fifth Goodfellowship meeting in Delwin Gleaner Hall hosted by the Clare Chamber of Commerce. Speakers included W. S. McAllister and Lloyd Aldread, with praise for the business men's band and calls for continued community collaboration on farm marketing and production.
Clare high school began basketball practice with a large squad under Coach Aldread. Captain H B Johnson Jr Shorty Grover and others return from last year’s squad aiming for a winning season. The Ladies of Colonville will host a church supper featuring fried chicken and sides in the church hall on Thursday evening December 5. Proceeds support church programs and community projects.
Seventy five men from Alma Forest Hill Shepherd Mt Pleasant Rosebush and Clare received a hearing before Governor Fred W Green and the State Administrative Board in Lansing Monday. They urged early paving of the 36 mile U S 27 stretch between Alma and Clare citing heavy truck traffic sugar beet movements and student travel adding to strain on the road. Rev H B Johnson spoke for the group and introduced local officials and state representatives. The petition was referred to the Administrative Board highway committee for action.

Rev Howard A Blanning of Benton Harbor officiated. Guests were served luncheon by St Johns young ladies. The couple will live in St Johns after a wedding trip.
