The circuit court will convene at the Harrison courthouse next Tuesday for the September term with petitions for naturalization and a criminal calendar listing cases such as The People vs Bob Stager and The People vs Paul Oakley. Clare Fire Department fought a Wednesday blaze at Martin Loomis Machine Shop. A 1941 Chevrolet owned by Wayne Mason of Union Rotary Company burned after an arc started welding under the car. Welder John Thatcher and Mason escaped with minor injuries as the shed, wiring, siding, and equipment were damaged. Insurance covers the loss. cause undetermined.

Deaths Mrs. Ernest Brown
Funeral services for Mrs. Ernest Brown were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday from the Farwell home with Rev. Albert Dawe of Douglas officiating. Interment was in Surrey Township cemetery. Born February 11 1868 in Milford Michigan she resided in Farwell with her husband Ernest Brown a longtime grocer. She died Sunday after months of ill health leaving two daughters and many relatives and friends. The life story will be published next week.
