Two auto accidents injure three near Harrison and Houghton Lake
The past week two crashes left several youths injured. Miss Betty Schaaf of Harrison Lake sustained a broken shoulder blade and minor facial cuts after a dance night collision near Houghton Lake. In a foggy crash seven miles north of Harrison, Donald Sellinger, John Bartlett, Margaret Dawson, Alfred Brazie and two others were thrown from a Model A Ford, with Sellinger suffering multiple broken ribs and internal injuries, Brazie badly injured with broken collar bones and pelvic damage, Dawson lightly hurt, Bartlett minorly injured.

A vote shifted next year’s gathering to Lumber Jacks Park Riverdale on the second Sunday in August. County Sportsmen Urged to Cooperate in Trout Planting
Clare County Rearing ponds will release over 200 000 Brown Brook and Rainbow trout in county waters from August 31 to September. Harrison Sportsman Club and Clare Rod and Gun Club lead the effort asking all interested in fish propagation to assist. Responsible parties may take a number of cans to plant in streams and volunteers are urged to help care for the planting and for those who enjoy wading the streams to assist in reaching the limit.

Death Angel Enters Vernon Township Home
Donel Gene Biel ten months old son of Mr and Mrs Laurence Biel Vernon township died Monday night at Mrs Rameys Vernon Hill after a brief illness. Born October 19 1934 he is survived by his parents a twin sister Donna Mae and several siblings, four grandparents and a great grandmother. Services were held at the Ramey home Wednesday afternoon Rev A D Telder officiating with burial in Vernon cemetery.

Isom Shafer of Surrey township was arrested last Monday by Undersheriff Henry Doll on a charge of assault and battery on Wm. Foeil. He pleaded guilty before Justice Kyle McKinn and was sentenced to ninety days in the county jail.
