Retirement gamble of two lovers with ten-year splurge
A married couple just past sixty plan to retire at sixty-two with a $10 000 yearly income from Social Security pension and investments. They intend to sell their paid-for home for $16 000, then spend ten years traveling and dining well, believing the plan will yield happiness even if their final years are lean. Critics warn $800 yearly income is insufficient for a life of luxury.
