Twenty three Clare School District residents were named to the new citizens committee on school facilities by the Board of Education. The board laid out guiding assignments to make construction and remodeling recommendations and to publicize the bond issue election. The group will prepare plans for 1969 70.

A Clare area man Tony Burdo Jr. was wounded in Vietnam after a ground based enemy fired on a military aircraft. He is seriously ill with skull and left arm fractures and is being flown to the United States for treatment. Tom Wellman, once a Clare student, was injured aboard the Mount Baker in a fall from a ship top deck.
