127 Year Old Paper Found During Remodel
A long hand dated June 4 1811 is found in Grant township by contractor Paul M Nass during work on Miss Kate Morgan's East Fourth Street home. The notice of a special election by the Grant township board bears signatures of E T Wheaton and Gilbert Parrish. The building was once part of the Alger Hotel near the Gulf Gas station on McEwan Street. Nass plans to frame the document for preservation.

Car Plunges Down 3800 Foot Embankment Saturday Night
Riussel Lawler of Rosebush was severely injured when his car failed to turn and plunged 3800 feet down an embankment at Bertha Lake. Passenger injuries included a broken shoulder, splintered bones, and a damaged spine. Catherine Seibt and Verna Bergay sustained cuts and back wounds.
